Before 2017, the Council was known as the Resources Industry Skills Association or RISA for short. The prolonged mining downturn had left RISA low on energy and its resolve to be recognised as THE voice of Resources Training in Australia needed a caffeine shot.
This is where Republic came in. We ran the rule over every part of the business and identified opportunities for improvement. We reached the consensus that RISA needed a better name to help its cause and determined that the Resources Training Council was more meaningful than an acronym that failed to communicate any purpose.
It was a small change that’s led to a bigger future. The organisation increased its membership 50 percent in six months following the name change thanks to a new corporate identity, new brand position and a new responsive website written and directed by Republic.
We’re now working on a weekly basis with the Council’s Executive to not only support its ongoing membership drive but also to supercharge the Council with credibility and leadership by strengthening its relationships with the media, government and industry.
