Brisbane City Council wanted to draw an international crowd to its new global sporting event so called on Republic’s media connections in Japan to catch the attention of Japanese sports fans.

According to Meltwater data, our targeted media campaign helped reach an estimated 42 million Japanese, translating to an equivalent advertising spend of more than $400,000.

For Brisbane and Queensland, attracting further investment from our second-largest trading partner via these new sporting connections could prove even more rewarding.

Republic Principal Anthony Fensom also put his Japanese language skills to good use at the event’s official launch in Tokyo, playing host to Australian embassy staff and a large scrum of local scribes.
